Dear Friends,
Praised be Jesus Christ!
Since I last wrote, things just seem to keep getting busier here at the seminary!
The first weekend in March, we had our 2nd Annual Irish Fest, which was a huge success! I was involved as one of two lead singers in our Seminarian Irish Band, which performed along with other popular Irish groups, including Irish Dancers and a bagpipe and drum corps. This fundraiser definitely helped the seminary as over 400 people came for a night of food, fun, fellowship, and excitement!

Last week, we had midterm exams and then were given a 3 ½ day midterm break, so I caught a ride with a seminarian from the Diocese of Covington, KY, down to Glenmary National Headquarters/ Motherhouse in Fairfield, north of Cincinnati, OH. It was great spending time learning about the history of our religious community from the older members who served under our Founder, the Very Reverend William Howard Bishop. I spent last Friday with our Archivist in our Headquarters Archives, discovering awesome prayer books, vocation promotion materials, and evangelization methods, such as street preaching, tent preaching, and trailer chapels, that Glenmary used to spread the Catholic Faith throughout Appalachia and the South. Also, it was nice to take a breather from seminary life and enjoy the pleasant weather and outdoor exercise around the farmhouse and woods at Headquarters. It is always so good to reconnect with fellow Glenmarians, for their missionary lives and stories are so inspiring!
Yesterday was the first “perfect” weather, we’ve had here at the Josephinum in Columbus, OH for a long time! A sunny day with blue skies, 72 degrees, and a light cool breeze, made for a wonderful day outdoors, bicycling and hiking between classes. Truly a refreshing and energizing glimpse of Spring!! Thank you Lord!!
This weekend, in addition to the Feast of St. Patrick, we will be participating in a Silent Retreat led by a visiting Jesuit from Boston College. It should be a revitalizing time for introspection and self-evaluation, so please remember me in your prayers especially during these days!
God Bless!
