Going Home...

Last night, I came across 2 interestings shows on PBS.

THe first dealt with the "Prairie Home Companion" radio show, a whimsical take on country life and Minnesota yarns. It makes one yearn for the great story telling of family gatherings around a roaring fire! :)

The second was a preview of Ken Burn's new film about the National Parks. One of the main narrators, made the observation that we go to the parks to return home. Something deep within us recognizes that the modern world is not as it should be. Even the most hardened city dweller walks away a little bit changed.

The parks becon to us, remind us of the American ideal of freedom and ruggedness. We got there to find ourselves, and to discover that we have not really lived...
