Last Thursday, drove up to Sarasota for a BBQ with His Excellency Bishop Dewane. This was my first event as a newly accepted seminarian! It was great spending time with other Diocese of Venice seminarians and applicants! First we started with Vespers, followed by a delicious meal and wonderful fellowship. Bishop was such a gracious host, opening his home to us! I also enjoyed getting to interact with the other college and major seminarians. To see other young men pursuing the Lord's call is so encouraging!
Spent the night at Incarnation Parish in Sarasota, breakfast at Troyer's Amish Heritage Restaurant (which I highly recommend by the way) then drove back to Ave Maria, arriving through the rain prior to Tropical Storm Bonnie's arrival in SW Florida. It proved to be simply a rainmaker with some squall bands. We were lucky this time!
