Italy Day 1

Our first day in Italy was a busy one, and after an 8.5 hr flight, we arrived safe and sound, and headed into Rome.  Here's some snapshots of what we saw. Enjoy!

Heading from the airport (FCO) near the Mediterranean coast to Rome...

We've reached the Eternal City- First glimpse of the Dome of St. Peter's Basilica!

Another good shot of the Vatican

Welcome to the Pontifical North American College! The home to around 250 seminarians studying for the priesthood of Jesus Christ.

My room (pre-unpacking) on the 4th floor looking over across the Tiber River to the city of Rome

Our main courtyard and orange groves! A nice reminder of Florida :)

The athletic fields

Another view

First trip to the piazza in front of St. Peter's.

A local parish church we popped into on our way around town.  Not bad, eh?

The view from the PNAC's 5th floor patio

Our first cena (Supper) together in Rome on the 5th floor.

Appetizers

Dining with a view of St. Peter's, the sun setting, and a nice view

Yum, but a bit too rich for my tastes!

A view of the Vatican from our roof

The top roof terrace

One last look for the night.

All in all, a full day!
